Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Tetrahydrofuran 99.8% For HPLC & UV Spectroscopy (CAS No. 109-99-9) is a cyclic ether solvent supplied for chromatographic and optical procedures requiring controlled solvent background. In reversed-phase HPLC, THF can act as a relatively strong organic modifier and can influence retention and selectivity differently from methanol or acetonitrile. It can also serve as a spectroscopic solvent where its intrinsic optical background is compatible with the selected wavelength region.
The HPLC & UV Spectroscopy grade is intended for chromatographic mobile phases, sample preparation and optical measurements using tetrahydrofuran as a polar organic solvent. It is particularly relevant to reversed-phase, polymer and specialised non-aqueous separations together with spectroscopic work at compatible wavelengths.

Storage Conditions
Keep tightly closed and protect from contamination that could increase chromatographic or optical background. Minimise prolonged exposure to air and strong light because THF can form peroxides, and do not assume any specific stabiliser from the grade designation.
