Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Sodium Hydroxide Powder 97% Extra Pure (CAS No. 1310-73-2) is sodium hydroxide supplied in a finely divided powder form, providing hydroxide ions and strong alkalinity on dissolution. Its basicity supports neutralisation, hydrolysis, saponification and numerous base-mediated reactions. The increased exposed surface associated with powder makes prompt protection from atmospheric moisture and carbon dioxide particularly relevant to preservation of composition.
The Extra Pure grade is intended for routine laboratory synthesis, alkalisation and reagent preparation requiring powdered sodium hydroxide. The powder form can facilitate rapid dispersion or dissolution where fine solid material is preferred, but no particle-size distribution or dissolution rate is inferred. The stated 97% assay does not establish the identity of the remaining fraction or a specific carbonate or water content.

Storage Conditions
Store tightly closed and minimise exposure to atmospheric moisture and carbon dioxide, particularly because of the high exposed surface of the powder. Promptly reseal after weighing to preserve composition and handling consistency.
