Product Overview
Sodium Chloride 99.5% AR/ACS (CAS No. 7647-14-5) is a neutral inorganic chloride salt that provides a reproducible source of sodium and chloride ions for conventional analytical chemistry. Chloride undergoes well-established precipitation reactions with silver(I) and participates in ionic-strength, conductivity and solution-equilibrium systems. The chemically simple electrolyte is therefore useful both as a reagent component and as a model ionic species in wet-chemical procedures.
The AR/ACS grade is intended for analytical reagent preparation, precipitation chemistry, laboratory quality control and preparation of non-certified chloride working solutions. It may be used in argentometric method development or verification when sodium chloride is an appropriate chloride source.
