Potassium Dihydrogen Orthophosphate Anhydrous 99.5% For Molecular biology (CAS No. 7778-77-0) is the monopotassium salt of phosphoric acid, consisting of potassium and dihydrogen phosphate ions. Also known as potassium phosphate monobasic or monopotassium phosphate, it is an inorganic phosphate reagent whose acid–base properties make it an important component of aqueous phosphate-buffer systems. The dihydrogen phosphate species participates in the phosphate buffering system and can be combined with dibasic phosphate salts to establish controlled pH conditions in biological and biochemical media.
The Molecular biology grade is intended for preparation of biological buffers and reagent systems used in molecular and biochemical procedures where controlled ionic composition is important.
