Petroleum Ether 100-120°C For Synthesis (CAS No. 8032-32-4) is a relatively high-boiling petroleum hydrocarbon solvent fraction selected to distil in the 100-120°C range. It remains a non-polar complex hydrocarbon mixture rather than a single chemical species, and its lower volatility relative to lighter petroleum ether cuts can be advantageous in extended preparative operations.

The Synthesis grade is intended for organic extraction, reaction processing, washing and other preparative operations requiring a less volatile hydrocarbon medium.
