Methylene Blue Hydrate 95% AR (CAS No. 122965-43-9) is hydrated methylene blue, a phenothiazinium redox dye whose conjugated cationic chromophore undergoes reversible reduction to a much less strongly coloured leuco form. This redox-responsive optical behaviour makes methylene blue useful in analytical colour, oxidation–reduction and spectrophotometric investigations.

The AR grade is intended for conventional analytical reagent preparation, redox studies and colourimetric or spectrophotometric method development.
