Detailed information about the product

Product Overview

Hydrochloric Acid 37% AR (CAS No. 7647-01-0) is a concentrated analytical-reagent solution of hydrogen chloride in water. It provides strongly acidic chloride media for dissolution, neutralisation, hydrolysis and sample-conditioning processes used throughout classical analytical chemistry. Its concentration makes it particularly suitable as a stock reagent for preparation of accurately diluted analytical solutions.

The AR grade is intended for wet-chemical analysis, quality-control testing and method-defined sample preparation. It supports titrimetric work, dissolution of compatible inorganic materials and preparation of chloride-rich analytical media. The analytical positioning relates to conventional reagent-quality work.

Typical Applications

  • Preparation of analytical hydrochloric acid solutions
  • Acid-base titration and neutralisation procedures
  • Dissolution and decomposition of compatible samples
  • Preparation of concentrated chloride analytical media
  • Gravimetric and precipitation analysis
  • Qualitative inorganic analytical procedures
  • Laboratory quality-control and method verification

Common Synonyms

  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Hydrogen chloride solution
  • Aqueous hydrogen chloride
  • Muriatic acid
  • Chlorhydric acid

Storage Conditions

Store tightly closed and protect from excessive heat, evaporation and analytical contamination. Minimise prolonged opening and use dedicated clean transfer equipment to maintain concentration and reagent blank quality.
