Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Formaldehyde Solution 37% AR/ACS (CAS No. 50-00-0) is a concentrated aqueous formaldehyde reagent whose reactive carbonyl-derived species form covalent adducts and methylene bridges with amino, phenolic and other nucleophilic groups. In aqueous solution, formaldehyde remains in equilibrium with hydrated and oligomeric forms. Control of concentration and physical condition is important because evaporation or polymer formation can alter analytical response.
The AR/ACS grade is intended for analytical reagent preparation, method-defined derivatisation, fixation and carbonyl-reaction procedures. It is useful in formol titration, preparation of formaldehyde working solutions, crosslinking of analytical specimens and verification of methods involving aldehyde reactivity. Controlled reagent quality supports reproducible blanks, reaction stoichiometry and sample treatment.

Storage Conditions
Store tightly sealed and protect from evaporation, excessive heat, contamination and conditions favouring polymerisation. Inspect for cloudiness, precipitated polymer or concentration change before analytical use and homogenise only where appropriate to the method.
