Product Description

Detailed information about the product

Product Overview

Cyclohexane 99.5% Specially Dried AR (CAS No. 110-82-7) is an analytical-reagent form of cyclohexane processed to limit the contribution of water introduced through the solvent. Its non-polar character and reduced-moisture positioning support analytical and preparative procedures in which solvent-borne water could affect reagent stability, phase behaviour or reaction outcome.

The Specially Dried AR grade is intended for moisture-sensitive reagent preparation, extraction and reaction procedures requiring controlled water content.

Typical Applications

  • Preparation of moisture-sensitive analytical reagent solutions.
  • Extraction procedures in which solvent-borne water can affect phase separation.
  • Non-polar reaction medium for water-sensitive transformations.
  • Washing and solvent-exchange procedures requiring reduced-moisture cyclohexane.
  • Preparation and handling of moisture-sensitive organometallic or coordination reagents.
  • Analytical blank and method-development work requiring specially dried hydrocarbon solvent.

Common Synonyms

  • Specially Dried Cyclohexane
  • Dry Cyclohexane
  • Hexamethylene
  • Hexahydrobenzene
  • Hexanaphthene
  • Cyclohexane

Storage Conditions

Store in a tightly closed container protected from moisture, humid air, excessive heat, evaporation and contamination. Minimise opening and use suitably dry dispensing practices to preserve the reduced-moisture character.
