Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Allyl Alcohol 99% For Synthesis (CAS No. 107-18-6) is an unsaturated primary alcohol in which a hydroxymethyl group is positioned adjacent to a carbon–carbon double bond. The presence of both alcohol and alkene functionalities allows reactions to occur at different sites within the molecule, giving allyl alcohol considerable value as a precursor for allyl esters, allyl ethers, and other oxygenated or unsaturated organic derivatives. It is systematically identified as 2-propen-1-ol and is widely established as an intermediate in organic chemical manufacture.
The Synthesis grade is intended for preparative organic chemistry, reaction-development studies, and laboratory production of allyl-containing intermediates. Its 99% purity supports synthetic procedures in which allyl alcohol is used as a starting material for functional-group transformation, derivative preparation, and investigation of reactions involving allylic alcohol systems.
Typical Applications
Allyl alcohol is principally used as an intermediate in the manufacture of allyl esters, resins, plasticisers, pharmaceuticals, and other organic chemicals.

Storage Conditions
Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, dark, and well-ventilated place, preferably below 15°C where specified by the approved product documentation. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, strong oxidising agents, and other incompatible materials. Reseal the container promptly after dispensing to minimise contamination and maintain product quality.
