Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Potassium Fluoride Anhydrous 97% Extra Pure (CAS No. 7789-23-3) is the anhydrous potassium salt of fluoride and provides a strongly ionic source of fluoride anion. Fluoride displays high affinity for silicon and numerous electropositive elements and can act as a nucleophile or ligand depending on the reaction medium. The reactivity of solid potassium fluoride in organic synthesis is strongly influenced by solvation, ion pairing and methods used to activate the fluoride ion.
The Extra Pure grade is suited to general synthetic and inorganic work requiring an anhydrous fluoride source. Potassium fluoride has established use in nucleophilic fluorination and other fluoride-mediated transformations where reduced adventitious water can be technically relevant.

Storage Conditions
Store tightly closed under dry conditions because anhydrous potassium fluoride readily takes up moisture, which can materially alter its behaviour in moisture-sensitive reactions. Minimise exposure to humid air during weighing and promptly reseal the container to preserve its anhydrous character.
