Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Di-iso-Propyl Ether 98% For Synthesis (Stabilized with BHT) (CAS No. 108-20-3) is a symmetrical aliphatic ether containing two isopropyl groups linked through oxygen. Its low polarity and limited aqueous affinity favour formation of a distinct organic phase, making it useful for reaction media, washing and phase-partition procedures. The product contains butylated hydroxytoluene as a stabiliser to retard oxidative peroxide formation during storage, although stabilisation does not eliminate the need for peroxide control.
The Synthesis grade is intended for preparative organic chemistry, extraction, crystallisation and reaction-workup operations requiring a relatively non-polar ether solvent. Its 98% assay makes it a suitable choice for routine laboratory activities performance.

Storage Conditions
Keep tightly closed and protected from air, light and excessive heat so that evaporation, peroxide development and depletion of the BHT stabiliser are minimised. Maintain an established peroxide-monitoring programme and preserve the product in its stabilised form. Confirm peroxide condition before concentration or distillation and do not concentrate uncontrolled residues.
